I have to say that friends and technology are both wonderful, wonderful things. First, credit must be given to my friend Annette for putting Natalia in touch with me to get started on this very fun suite, thank you! And then, I have to give a shout out to technology in general for making long-distance communication easy, convenient and cheap – otherwise this project wouldn't have gotten off the ground. Lovely Natalia lives in Minnesota and I'm based in Dallas.
This was not my first rodeo with long-distance design – in fact, I've assisted brides in Colorado, Florida and New York thus far. It's amazing what a little patience, a Face Time session or two and sending some paper samples via snail mail (my favorite thing!) will do. So, if you happen to be reading this in another area besides DF/W, trust me when I tell you that I can help you too!
But back to business – Natalia had this great idea to do succulents for her design and I thought watercolor would be a great way to soften them a bit and make the colors more monochromatic without being boring, of course! We also had the idea of using Neenah's Stardream paper so the suite would have a sheen, a sparkle, if you will, to set it off.
Natalia was a dream to work with, an absolute delight! Super easy going and very helpful with feedback – I'm a total feedback-junkie. I *have* to know what brides think of my designs, for better or worse, I need to know!
At any rate, the above is the results of our collaboration, hope you enjoy!
